Murphy nets hat trick, U.S. beats Canada 4-1 in Rivalry Series opener

CLEVELAND - Abbey Murphy scored three times, Taylor Heise had a goal and three assists, and the United States women's national hockey team defeated Canada 4-1 in Thursday's opening game of the 2025-26 Rivalry Series.

Sarah Fillier gave Canada a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 9:27 of the first period, but Heise got the equalizer 16 seconds later at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
