TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Steven Stamkos scored the tying goal with 4.8 seconds left in regulation and Brandon Hagel got the winner on a breakaway 1:19 into overtime as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Bruins 5-4 on Monday night.
Tanner Jeannot, Nicholas Paul and Austin Watson scored for the Lightning. Jonas Johansson turned aside 22 shots.
Stamkos’ goal came after Victor Hedman kept a clearing attempt in the Boston zone. Hedman also set up Hagel’s goal.
Pavel Zacha, David Pastrnak, John Beecher and Charlie Coyle scored for Boston. Jeremy Swayman stopped 41 shots as the Bruins dropped to 13-1-3 on the season.
STARS 6, RANGERS 3
DALLAS (AP) — Mason Marchment scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period following a successful coach’s challenge as Dallas rallied from two-goal deficit and beat the surging New York.
Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin, Sam Steel and Roope Hintz also scored for the Stars, who trailed 2-0 midway through the second period before scoring six consecutive goals — five in the third. Scott Wedgewood, in his fifth start of the season, made 30 saves.
Vincent Trocheck, Kaapo Kakko and Barclay Goodrow scored for the Rangers, who came in with a four-game winning streak, an 11-game points streak (10-0-1), and a club-record 12 wins in their first 15 games. Igor Shesterkin stopped 30 shots.
Erik Gustafsson had the second assist on Trocheck’s goal, giving him a six-game point streak (one goal, seven assists).
PANTHERS 5, OILERS 3
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Niko Mikkola had the first two-goal game of his career, Kevin Stenlund had a three-point effort and Florida rallied to defeat Edmonton.
Stenlund had a goal and two assists for the Panthers, who have won six consecutive games at home and are 7-1-0 in their last eight games. Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett also scored for Florida, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 25 shots.
Connor McDavid scored twice for the Oilers. Evander Kane also scored for Edmonton, and Calvin Pickard — making his first start since March 27, 2022 — stopped 27 shots.
The Oilers fell to 1-10-1 this season when allowing three or more goals.
KINGS 4, COYOTES 1
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Trevor Moore scored two goals and Los Angeles extended its season-opening road winning streak to eight games.
Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault also scored and Pheonix Copley made 30 saves for the Kings, who are tied for the third-longest such streak in NHL history. Buffalo holds the record by winning its first 10 road games in 2006-07.
Lawson Crouse scored and Connor Ingram made 21 saves for the Coyotes, who played their seventh home game of the season.
The Kings are 9-1-2 in their last 12 games after sweeping the three-game season series against the Coyotes.
PREDATORS 4, AVALANCHE 3
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Filip Forsberg scored twice and Yakov Trenin got the tiebreaking goal with 21.6 seconds remaining to lift Nashville over Colorado.
Jeremy Lauzon also scored and Juuse Saros made 25 saves for Nashville, winners of two straight.
Valerie Nichushkin had a goal and an assist, Andrew Cogliano and Devon Toews also scored and Cale Makar had three assists for Colorado, which had its three-game winning streak snapped. Alexandar Georgiev made 27 saves and Nathan MacKinnon added two assists.
Makar has 23 assists in 17 games this season, including three in each of his last three games. He extended his point-scoring streak to seven games (one goal, 16 assists).
FLAMES 4, KRAKEN 3, OT
SEATTLE (AP) — Andrew Mangiapane scored the tying goal with 4:07 left in regulation, and Rasmus Andersson scored the winner 3:28 into overtime to rally Calgary.
Elias Lindholm scored his fourth of the season 1:16 into the game and Jonathan Huberdeau scored on the power play midway through the first period.
Dan Vladar made 28 saves for the Flames as Calgary won for the third time in four games with the only loss in that stretch coming in a shootout. The Flames also improved to 6-0-0 all-time against the Kraken in Seattle, including a 6-3 win earlier this month.
Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann scored 2:04 apart in the second period to give Seattle a 3-2 lead. Vince Dunn added a goal and assist, but the Kraken have yet to win three straight games this season.
CANUCKS 3, SHARKS 1
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Quinn Hughes had a goal and an assist, leading Vancouver past San Jose.
J.T. Miller and Sam Lafferty also scored to help the Canucks end their second two-game skid of the season. Thatcher Demko finished with 27 saves.
Thomas Hertl had a goal as the Sharks lost for the fourth time in five games since a two-game win streak after an 0-10-1 start. San Jose fell to 0-8-0 away from home. Mackenzie Blackwood finished with 34 saves.
