MANILA, Philippines (AP) — The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the tsunami threat from an earthquake Friday off the southern Philippines has passed.

Small waves were detected on the Indonesian and Philippine coasts after the earthquake, with the highest being 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) above tide level in Indonesia’s North Sulawesi province.
