Festival organizers say they're flushing the festival because they reached an impasse with city officials over decibel levels below the limits in other locations.

Organizers say construction and changes to the site also affected their decision, but noise levels were the final straw.

Mayor Jeromy Farkas has already been in a public debate with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith over noise restrictions during the upcoming Calgary Stampede.

Farkas says the city is respecting residents while Smith has said he's cutting into festival fun.
