VICTORIA - Seniors in British Columbia should be relieved of the burden of paying thousands of dollars in home support costs, in the same way as residents of Ontario and Alberta whose governments cover the fees, says B.C.'s seniors advocate.

Isobel Mackenzie called for the restructuring of home support services for seniors in a report on Thursday, with eliminating fees for seniors' home care the top recommendation.
