BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) 鈥 Julian McMahon, an Australia-born actor who performed in two 鈥淔antastic Four鈥 films and appeared in TV shows such as 鈥淐harmed," 鈥淣ip/Tuck鈥 and 鈥淧rofiler,鈥 has died, his wife said in a statement.

McMahon, 56, died peacefully this week after a battle with cancer, Kelly McMahon said in a statement provided to The Associated Press by his Beverly Hills, California-based publicist.

鈥淛ulian loved life," the statement said. 鈥淗e loved his family. He loved his friends He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.鈥

McMahon played Dr. Doom in the films 鈥淔antastic Four鈥 in 2005 and 鈥淔antastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,鈥 which came out two years later.

Along with 鈥淐harmed,鈥 鈥淣ip/Tuck,鈥 and 鈥淧rofiler,鈥 he also had roles in the TV shows 鈥淗ome and Away,鈥 鈥淔BI: Most Wanted鈥 and 鈥淎nother World,鈥 according to IMDB.

Actress Alyssa Milano, who appeared with McMahon on 鈥淐harmed,鈥 mourned his death on social media, saying 鈥淛ulian was more than my TV husband.鈥

鈥淛ulian McMahon was magic,鈥 Milano said. 鈥淭hat smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up 鈥 not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding.鈥
