S&P/TSX composite index down over 300 points, U.S. markets also lower

TORONTO - Canada's main stock index finished nearly 500 points lower on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in technology stocks, while U.S. markets also fell.

The S&P/TSX composite index was down 497.24 points at 29,777.82.
