S&P/TSX composite down more than 150 points, U.S. stock markets also fall

TORONTO - Canada's main stock index finished in negative territory, weighed down by losses in the basic materials sector, while U.S. markets also lost ground. 

The S&P/TSX composite index was down 74.80 points at 34,927.38.
