Three-year-old boy dies after being hit in residential street in Halifax suburb

HALIFAX - Police say a toddler has died after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a residential street in a Halifax suburb.

Officers say they were called to the scene at Brownstone Way, in Bedford, at about 7:50 p.m. on Friday evening.

Paramedics took the child to hospital, where he later died.聽

His name was not immediately released.

Police say no charges have been laid at this time, but an investigation is underway with the support of the collision reconstruction unit.聽

Police thanked witnesses and bystanders who remained at the scene through the evening after the collision.聽
