INDIANAPOLIS (AP) 鈥 Top Republican hopefuls for the 2024 presidential race vowed Friday at the 好色tv Rifle Association's annual convention to defend the Second Amendment at all costs, suggesting that new firearms restrictions in the wake of mass shootings around the country would only hurt law-abiding gun owners.

The three-day gathering with thousands of the organization鈥檚 most active members at Indianapolis鈥 convention center came mere days after mass shootings at a school in and a bank in , Kentucky. Last year's NRA convention followed the massacre at a school in Uvalde, Texas.
