RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Josh Stein pitched himself Tuesday as a champion for the state's most vulnerable residents in the face of policies that he said have threatened women's reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ safety and health care access.

“Our home is under assault,” Stein said. “Right-wing politicians are taking a sledgehammer to its foundation.”
