Researchers have captured video footage of what they say is possible tool-use by wolves after the animal was seen pulling a crab trap out of deeper waters in B.C. The video shows Heiltsuk First Nation traps near Bella Bella, B.C., being dragged to the shore by wolves, where they then eat what’s in the trap. (Nov. 17, 2025)
