VANCOUVER - Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko left Tuesday night's game against the Winnipeg Jets.Â
The 29-year-old all-star was spotted stretching his lower body in the crease midway through the first period, but played the entire frame, giving up three goals on eight shots.
Kevin Lankinen took over in Vancouver's net to start the second period and the Canucks later posted on social media saying Demko would not return to the game.Â
The six-foot-four, 192-pound goalkeeper from San Diego, Calif., did not dress for Vancouver's three previous games, and Canucks head coach Adam Foote said the goalie was taking care of himself in a season with a condensed schedule due to the Winter Olympic break.
Demko is 5-4-0 this season with a .912 save percentage and a 2.57 goals-against average.Â
He missed much of last season after suffering a knee injury in Game 1 of Vancouver’s first-round playoff series against the Predators in the 2023-24 campaign.Â
