TORONTO - Ottawa Rapid forward D.B. Pridham has completed a near sweep of the hardware up for grabs from the inaugural Northern Super League season.
The 28-year-old was named Player and Forward of the Year honours, took the Golden Boot as the league's top scorer with 18 goals and was named to the team of the season.
All that is missing is the Diana B. Matheson Cup, which goes to the winner of the NSL final, scheduled for Nov. 15 at Toronto's BMO Field.
Pridham and Ottawa open their two-legged playoff semifinal Tuesday at the Vancouver Rise. The first semifinal goes Saturday with AFC Toronto at the Montreal Roses.
Pridham's 18 goals were four more than her closest rival, AFC Toronto's Kaylee Hunter. She added three assists in helping Ottawa to second place in the regular-season standings at 11-8-6. Pridham accounted for 44 percent of Ottawa's 41 regular-season goals.
Pridham also led the six-team league in shots (83) and shots on target (42). In June, she became the first NSL player to record a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over AFC Toronto.
Born in Saratoga, Calif., to ºÃÉ«tv parents (father from Toronto and mother from Fort Erie, Ont.), Pridham is a dual citizen. The family moved to the U.S. for her father's work in tech sales.
Pridham played four seasons at Santa Clara University, graduating with a degree in political science and a minor in business (entrepreneurship).
After college, she spent a season in Iceland and three in Sweden, before joining Ottawa.
