CALGARY - Police say a woman has died after she was run over in a Calgary restaurant drive-thru.

Officers say the woman in her 70s was walking across a Wendy's drive-thru lane Thursday, when it's believed she tripped and fell.

They say a 17-year-old boy driving an SUV had placed his food order at about the same time and was proceeding slowly through the drive-thru when he ran over the woman.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the teen left the drive-thru, pulled over at a nearby gas station and returned to the scene.

They say officers are investigating, but alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors.
