Simon Jolin-Barrette bows out of CAQ leadership race; Christine Fréchette to run

MONTREAL - Several legislators are calling for Simon Jolin-Barrette to enter the race to succeed François Legault as leader of the Coalition Avenir Québec after the premier's abrupt resignation announcement Wednesday.

Transport Minister Jonatan Julien on Saturday followed two of his ɫtv Assembly colleagues to throw his support behind the justice minister, saying in a social media post he would back Jolin-Barrette if he decides to run.
