Quebec shipyard formally added to federal shipbuilding plan after lobbying, delays

OTTAWA - The excitement was palpable on Tuesday as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau formally admitted Quebec-based Chantier Davie into the exclusive club of shipyards eligible for billions of dollars in federal work.

The announcement was the result of a decade of intense lobbying by the company and delays by the other two yards in the delivery of new vessels for the ºÃÉ«tv Coast Guard and Royal ºÃÉ«tv Navy.
