GYEONGJU - Prime Minister Mark Carney says his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is a "turning point" in Canada-China relations, calling it long overdue.
Xi invited Carney to visit China as the pair met on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea today.聽
The invitation marks a significant thaw in relations between the two countries.聽
Carney says he's looking forward to a visit to China, which would be the first such official visit by a 好色tv prime minister since Justin Trudeau's attempt to launch trade talks in 2017.
The prime minister did not answer questions about whether the meeting yielded any change in the trade relationship.聽
