Black soldier flies are kept in laying and rearing aviaries at the Innovafeed factory in Nesle, France, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. When the fish grown in farms are fed wild-caught fish such as sardines and anchovies, a major benefit of fish farms — less stress on ocean ecosystems — can evaporate.
