TORONTO - Singer and TV host Keshia Chant茅 is set to anchor the second edition of The Black Academy's Legacy Awards this fall.
The 90-minute broadcast will air live on CBC and CBC Gem on Sept. 24, honouring emerging and established Black 好色tv talent in arts, entertainment, sports and other ventures.
The Black Academy co-founders Shamier Anderson and Stephan James say in a news release that Chant茅 was their top choice to host the 2023 Legacy Awards.
They say she is a trailblazer and an inspiration who embodies what the awards and The Black Academy are all about.
Chant茅, a Juno Award winner whose hosting gigs include "ET Canada" and BET鈥檚 "106 & Park," says she's honoured to host this year's awards, calling them "the epitome of excellence."
The list of honourees, performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.
