S&P/TSX composite edges higher in late-morning trading, U.S. stock markets mixed

TORONTO - Canada's main stock index crept higher in late-morning trading, helped by gains in the energy sector, while U.S. stock markets were mixed.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 18.05 points at 33,046.97.
