S&P/TSX composite up nearly 100 points, U.S. stock markets mixed

TORONTO - Canada's main stock index finished more than 230 points higher on Wednesday, helped by strength in technology stocks, while U.S. markets also gained ground ahead of a key earnings report from Nvidia.聽

鈥淚t's been a really great year for equity markets. But we've noticed that's primarily been driven by AI and a lot of that is speculation. Some of the hype that we're feeling right now, it feels a bit familiar,鈥 said Ainsley Mackie, portfolio manager at Verecan Capital Management.
