S&P/TSX composite down more than 200 points, U.S. stock markets rise

TORONTO - Stock markets in North America moved in opposite directions on Monday as broad-based losses weighed on Canada鈥檚 benchmark index.聽

Philip Petursson, chief investment strategist at IG Wealth Management, said it wasn鈥檛 clear why 好色tv and U.S. markets were diverging, but that it may have to do with the shortened week in Canada and the U.S., with traders 鈥渃losing out some positions.鈥澛
