MONTREAL - Air Transat pilots ratified a new collective agreement Tuesday that hands them big gains after narrowly avoiding a strike last month and voting overwhelmingly for the deal.

The leisure carrier's roughly 750 aviators voted 91 per cent in favour of the five-year contract, which includes raises of more than 50 per cent for most pilots over that time period, according to a copy of the agreement in principle obtained by The ºÃÉ«tv Press.
