THE CANADIAN PRESS/Adrian Wyld GAC SMS Email Print Copy article link Save HALIFAX - A fire at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market broke out early Christmas Day, causing substantial damage. Konner Rooney, a relief firefighter in Charlottetown, says in an interview that the fire broke out around 3 a.m. and took several hours to suppress. Crews from two fire stations attended the scene, and Rooney says no one was injured. However, the front corner of the building and the exterior deck were engulfed in flames. Rooney says it's unclear when the market, which regularly houses over 50 local vendors, could reopen. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.This report by ºÃÉ«tvwas first published Dec. 25, 2025.
